In doing so, the study surveys the history, guiding stars, external environment, internal environment, and the current strategies that Werner has employed. Werner’s guiding stars include their mission statement, vision statement, and guiding principles. Each of these demonstrate the importance that Werner places on relationships. These guiding stars give an idea of the business that Werner engages in, and what their values and goals are. However, there are many ways in which these statements can be improved. A more descriptive view of where the company is now, where they would like to be in the future, and how they intend to get there will be beneficial to the company, its employees, and its customers.
